Zippswitch Touch Sensor

The Zippswitch Sensing Strip is a normally open, momentary action, linear touch switch. By pressing any point along the switch length, two internal conductors will make contact, completing the circuit.

The Zippswitch Sensing Strip is used as a switching and control device for either general purpose or safety applications. It is designed for use in low voltage applications, typically under 30 VAC or VDC. For higher voltage applications, the Zippswitch Sensing Strip is compatible with any one of our ControllerZ that will interface safely with the application.

Zippswitch Sensing Strip Construction

The Sensing Strip is made up of 3 basic components: Insulators, conductors and an extruded polyolefin jacket. This simple design allows the Sensing Strip to be manufactured and configured to meet the needs of every customer’s application.

The switch characteristics can change by substituting different components, if a more sensitive switch is needed, we can change one or more components to increase sensitivity. Our manufacturing process allows us to adapt these modifications “on the fly” to produce the desired result.

The Zippswitch Sensing Strip is manufactured 1 inch wide. This gives the user a larger target area to touch and activate the switch. Also, the switch is designed to have a flat surface, making the switch more user friendly to the touch.
